Rojales
Costa Blanca Information
Rojales -
Split by the Segura river, Rojales is located just inland from Guardamar del Segura on the Southern Costa Blanca.
Rojales has a rich history dating back to the Arab Conquest and there is still some evidence today of those past times. Water has dominated the history of Rojales and its most important features are connected in some way to water - The Charles III bridge (dating from the 18th C), the Azud dam, the Water Wheel and the Gasparito Wells, all worth a visit on a trip to Rojales.
Be sure to visit the cave houses at El Rodeo (now a craft market) and also the famous Shell House located in the same area as the cave houses.
To the south of Rojales lies the new town of Ciudad Quesada with its golf course and Aqua Park, also to the south is the Natural Park of the Lagoons of La Mata and Torrevieja (comprising the salt lakes and surrounding countryside).
Rojales is situated on the CV 940.
